The first $300 raised for Puppy Jake was by an enterprising 6th grader who ran hot chocolate stands at elementary school concerts and at the foot of his parent’s driveway. Since thousands of dollars have been raised by individuals and businesses who host an event on our behalf.
- Host an online event. The most popular fundraiser is to celebrate a significant milestone and set up an online fundraiser through popular platforms like Facebook, GoFundMe or Paypal.
- Host an event. Independent consultants, companies and individuals have hosted fundraisers on our behalf. We have online tools that can help you set up a webpage for information and take donations. Plus, if you let us know in advance, we’ll work to get service dogs in training to your event.

Workplace Giving
Matching Gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to the Puppy Jake Foundation may be doubled or possibly tripled!

Specific Bequest
“I give and bequeath to Puppy Jake Foundation, Tax ID 46-1187854, headquartered in Urbandale, Iowa, the sum of $ (or specify a specific asset to gift) to be used in support of its charitable mission.”
Residuary Bequest
“All of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate I give to Puppy Jake Foundation, Tax ID 46- 1187854, headquartered in Urbandale, Iowa, to be used in support of its charitable mission.”
“Residue” refers to the portion of your estate that remains after all debts, expenses and specific bequests to others have been fulfilled.
DONATIONS OF LIFE INSURANCE, IRAS OR OTHER RETIREMENT ASSETS
Retirement accounts and life insurance benefits typically pass by “beneficiary designation” and are not controlled by a will or trust. To designate Puppy Jake Foundation as the beneficiary of this type of asset you can complete a “change of beneficiary” form. Your account administrator or insurance company can provide the form. Most forms request a social security number. When naming Puppy Jake as a beneficiary, please use our Tax ID 46-1187854.
