Large or small, your donation helps train dogs that make a difference in the lives of veterans.
Give Your Time
Volunteer
Whether you want to give a little time or a lot, we are always looking for amazing volunteers. We use volunteers to:
- Foster and train dogs
- Staff events and booths at events such as the HyVee Indycar Weekend and the State Fair
- Transport dogs to appointments
- Dog sit for long weekends when our fosters take well deserved breaks
- And many things we haven’t even thought of yet!
The first step is to apply. Once we get your application we’ll let you know next steps.

Schedule a visit for your organization or business
Want to learn more Puppy Jake and service dogs? We speak to community groups, schools and businesses about what we do and why it is so important through stories from our staff, volunteers, and our veterans. We also talk about service dog etiquette and the service dog laws. Please contact our office with your request.

Looking to host a fundraiser?
Our first $300 was raised by a Des Moines sixth grader who hosted a hot chocolate stand at an elementary school concert. Since that time, hundreds of people have supported Puppy Jake by hosting events small and large. We appreciate the donations, but it is also a great chance to tell others about our program.
