Qualifications

  • This class is open to veterans and their families.
  • Dogs should be between the ages of four months and five years old. If you are considering the Owner Trained Service Dogs track, the dog cannot be older than three years old.
  • If you are taking this class to begin your service dog in training journey, you must be approved by our Veteran Relation team first.  Please contact Zac Fox, Zac@puppyjakefoundation.org,  for more info.

Dog Perfect

Does Rover need to work on his manners? Turn your pet dog into the PERFECT dog.

Dogs are great companions, but sometimes a little help is needed to become the best best friend. These pet dog training classes help veterans reinforce the basic skills to make your pet dog perfect.

Throughout this 15-week course, learn how to teach your dog:

  • Sit + Down (hand verbal cues)
  • Recall (come when called)
  • Place (hand cue & verbal cue)
  • Heel
  • Loose leash walking
  • Leave-it (impulse control)
  • How to ignore distractions
  • 4 on the Floor (not jumping when meeting people)
  • Stays
  • AND MORE

Space is limited. Space is limited. Classes are Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. Check the event calendar for stating times.

$595 for 15-week training. Financial assistance is available.
