Each December, NFL fans look forward to My Cause My Cleats, the league’s annual moment when players step onto the field wearing custom-designed cleats that showcase the causes closest to their hearts. This year, New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard is once again using his platform to bring national attention to a mission that means a great deal to him: Puppy Jake Foundation.
This marks the second consecutive year Allen has selected Puppy Jake Foundation as his featured cause—an honor we are deeply grateful for. But Allen’s connection to our organization goes far beyond game day.
Service Dog in Training Luna
Allen has been involved with Puppy Jake for the past two years, lending his voice, time, and support to our mission of providing professionally trained service dogs to veterans. Early in his involvement, Allen sponsored a black Labrador retriever named Luna, helping ensure she received the training, care, and support needed to prepare for her life-changing role.
Luna was recently matched with her veteran and is on the path to graduation. Her progress reflects not only the dedication of our trainers and volunteers, but also the support from sponsors like Allen who make this journey possible.

My Cause My Cleats is more than a campaign. It’s an opportunity for players to amplify stories of courage, resilience, and community. For Allen, shining a light on veterans’ needs and the healing power of service dogs is a meaningful extension of his personal values His choice to again represent Puppy Jake during My Cause My Cleats underscores the long-term commitment he has made to our veterans and their future service dogs.
