April Newsletter: When Every Dog’s Path Matters

At Puppy Jake Foundation, training a service dog is never a one-size-fits-all journey. In this month’s Pupdates, we share a closer look at the thoughtful decisions that guide each dog through our program. Not every dog is meant for service work, and recognizing early “red flags” allows our trainers to make the best possible decision for that dog’s future—whether that means continuing in training or transitioning to a different role where they can succeed.

This level of care and intention is made possible by our dedicated community. Volunteers who foster and train, and donors who invest in our mission, help ensure we can maintain the high standards required to prepare service dogs for veterans. Every decision is rooted in doing what is right for the dog while staying focused on long-term success for the teams we serve.

We invite you to read the full update to see how these decisions come to life and the impact they have on our program. Follow the April Puppy Jake Pupdate link to learn more about the journey behind each service dog in training.
